Carbon Capture

For many industries in Denmark, CO2 emissions are unavoidable. As a result, technologies are now being developed and implemented to reduce, store and reuse emitted CO2. Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) currently represents the most effective and commercially available method for capturing CO2 directly from industrial processes. This approach enables the capture, storage and potential reuse of CO2 that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

Our team has, among other things, been involved in advising on the following:

  • FEED (Front-End Engineering & Design) agreements related to project planning
  • Construction and works contracts for the establishment of CO2 capture facilities
  • Agreements on the sale and offtake of CO2 between CO2-emitting companies and CO2 capture facilities
  • Transport agreements relating to the transportation of CO2
  • Carbon credit or Emissions Trading agreements in connection with the trading of CO2 allowances
  • Joint venture agreements
  • Commercial and strategic matters
  • Applications for public support schemes, including CCS funding programmes
